Kim Carpenter is a distinguished Sydney-based artist and storyteller whose creations spring instinctively from his vivid imagination. Drawing inspiration from the images of everyday life, he reimagines and reinterprets them, weaving these elements into the stories and themes that define his work. Carpenter's art often delves into literary sources Shakespeare, Oscar Wilde etc), creating atmospheric, stylized, and fantastical worlds that bring characters and narratives to life.

His unique medium blends paints, inks, Caran d’Ache crayon, and collage on Arches Watercolour Paper, resulting in works that captivate with their texture, depth, and storytelling finesse. Carpenter’s pieces have earned a place in prestigious Australian and international exhibitions, as well as private collections.

Kim has won two Helpmann Awards, an Arts Hub Award for his theatre work which includes plays about iconic Australian artists Arthur Boyd, Lloyd Rees and Brett Whiteley.
